The Best Practice Review and New Technologies Review are two
reports that were prepared to inform partners on the design and
content of the project products.
The “Best Practice Review” put emphasis on examples of teachers’
best practice and examples of initiatives taken by education
authorities to develop approaches to supporting continuous
professional development in this field. The review was based on
four groupings of education: primary, secondary, further education;
higher education. This secondary research showed how each specific
sector has used ICT to the best of their ability to improve learner
environments and their experiences.
The “New Technologies in Education Review” investigated identified
and described emerging technologies likely to have a large impact
within education. The literature review was based on global
academic and corporate publications such as the Horizon Reports and
BECTA Reviews that informed the selection of technologies and
approaches included in the eTeach Community of Practice.
